Today companies look for influencers, people who have a big online following and work with them to promote their product, service or otherwise. The goal is to maximize conversion and minimize cost per conversion. If your influencer is worth their money, you will find no better ROI in the market right now. Heck, you can even find influencers who love your product, and they will promote it for free if you send them one of your cool phones or stickers or whatever.
Let me give you a little inspiration for the week to come.
I've been talking a lot about actively changing your lifestyle, trying out new things and being more open to change. I have to admit, that it took some convincing to finally get myself to this point.
I've always been an autodidact and while I learned a big deal about my craft during my studies, I've been learning a lot on the side as well. The most impact on my personal development was made by listening to others who are older, more experienced and who shared their life stories with me.
Digitization is a trend we've been seeing in conservative industries for the last 20+ years when Windows 95 started to ship to the end consumer and companies now had the ability to give people without any technical background the chance to become more productive and embrace software like email for day to day business.
Do you remeber the time when SMS was a thing and all the kids were doing it and how it transformed the way we treated emails more like chats and everything became more informal? Then came the smartphone and made us all addicted to it. Seriously, just look around you on the street, in the tram or on the bus. So there is definitely over-stimulation of our senses. Less and less people are actually calling each other on the phone, in fact I observed a trend in sending voice messages instead of calling - using apps like WhatsApp or Snapchat.
I was always more intersted in the future than in the past. Although history lessons can give us some valuable advice on how things worked out, but all those events are fixed in time and will probably never happen again, at least that's not likely.
With that in mind, what would you say is your personal pitch as a human, an employee or a friend? Does you list only contain things from the past or do you value your aspirations in the future as well or even more?
It doesn't matter if you're an introvert or an extrovert, stage fright is a common feeling among all individuals once you have to be in front of an audience, talking, presenting or acting. But there are instances where you have to be in the spotlight or even want to be - to overcome stage fright and deliver a smooth presentation here are some tips that helped me over the years.
Despite the popular believe that marketers do nothing but smart graphs and a ad once in a while with a nice picture it is far mor mathmatical than you would think.
Although I'am not a numbers guy - e.g. hated math in school - I suprisingly do embrace numbers and its magic in my profession. Why is that?
What can I say, as Marketers we are expected to know it all! The latest trends, deliver top results and know how to spend the hard earned cash of the companies we are working for. Although we made a major step in data driven analysis and can at least say that a certain amount of people clicked an ad we still can't be sure about anything truly that might be sold to us as conversion rates or ad impressions... if you do know 100% percent of your ROI of any given Marketing activity I strongly advise you to go into consulting and become rich and famous.
