Why Couch-Coop still matters

Why Couch-Coop still matters

As I matured as a gamer, I've seen a lot of changes in the last three decades of video games. But one of the most profound experience is still manifested in kids from the 90s - the local multiplayer or as we call it today: Couch-Coop.

Without a doubt, the biggest impact of the coop experience was made by Nintendo with their 4-player game Mario Kart. To this day, people have their N64 ready to go when friends come over and want to do something together. Albeit video games are still a stigma for many people, who would prefer the outside world.

Gamescom 2016 - Is Your Living Room Ready For VR?

Gamescom 2016 is over and the last few days were packed with new and exciting technology. First and foremost, Virtual Reality. Last year was just a sneak peak of what was to come. We still have to reach mass market with VR and by the end of this year and Sony's Playstation VR entry, I'm confident the market will get there. Why I'm Excited For Playstation VR

Did you ever put on VR glasses before? The thing that really suprises you is how close everything is and how your brain somehow can and can't handle it. So in regards to games this is obviously a big selling point, just think about all those years we've spent on immersive ego-perspective games, be it a shooter or action rpg. Put on the VR machine, some nice headphones and you will find yourself in a completely different world. A whole new era of escapism is awaiting us.

Why Videogames Help To Stay On Top Of Technology

Due to the recent passing of Satoru Iwata (President of Nintendo, read more about his story on this Time Magazine Article http://time.com/3954934/nintendo-satoru-iwata/), may he rest in piece, I thought about how videogames influenced my life throughout the years.

The first real memory I have of videogames is playing Tetris and Super Mario Land on my Gameboy (handheld) in the very early 90's, so one might say I'm involved with the industry for about 2 decades now that I can remember. The last memory is from this morning on my daily commute playing on the Nintendo 3Ds (handheld). I'd say old habits die hard.
